you think structure scan can help us?
Hey fellas, my company does a lot of work with underwater imaging. On our last job, one of our 40k units got hung up on something in 30ft of water and broke loose. The next day fellow employees tried for 7 hours to get it with a grapple but the hook caught everything but our tripod and sonars. My question is, do you think that one of these units would be able to spot our sonar head and tripod. Another question is, how good do they work in water current. One of the workers said the current seemed to be around 2-4 knots. I don't know how accurate his guess is, but anyone with helpful information about these units would be greatly appreciated. We'd like to spend the money neccesary on one of these units to locate it instead of 40k on purchasing another sonar head. We'd even take into consideration of bringing one of you out with us either in your boat or ours if you own a unit and would like to help. Thanks, I will have a picture of what we are trying to find shortly. For the time being the tripod basically looks like a pyramid and the sonar hangs in the middle. The frame is made with 1/2" aluminum pipes.

Really? They're abandoning it!!??? Lets go get it!!

Try using a side scan sonar............you should be able to see it pretty easily and you should also be able to use it at the same time with the grapple hook to guide you down if ya'll know how to use the equipment pretty well.

I've got a Humminbird 998C SI. I think it may pick it up with the downscan feature. We may be able to find it with the sidescan, but the downscan has better detail. I can pick up Christmas trees in Toledo Bend with it in about 25 feet of water. I also have dive gear, just need a tank. Where did you lose this thing?

I'm seriously thinking about going get this thing. If i can find a buyer, i'm going to give it a shot if the deal is worth it. I'm thinking i can get close to 5-7k for it at least. |
Bet insurance co has already called in salvage
Company to pick it up. Better check salvage laws in state waters also. |
