fishfinder

I want to put a fishfinder on the front of my boat but i dont want to spend a bunch. i would mount it to the trolling motor. Anybody have an idea on what the best bang for my buck would be? Thanks in advance

What/where do you plan on using it? If you are fishing toledo you will need something that can "shoot" through the grass.

Mostly Henderson,Bayou Benoit, Lake Martin, sometimes Toledo, Big Lake and Cypremort Point.. What would you suggest?

Eagles mount sucks......wont hold up on the front of any boat.....put it in the console of the McKee and it didn't last 3 trips.....

We put ours on the trolling motor foot. Been there for years of stumps and still going strong

Southsore can explain better than I can, but here goes.

You need higher watts to shoot through the grass and see the bottom. The more pixels you have the clearer the resolution. I have used Lowrance for years and am happy with them. I believe that with depth finders, you get what you pay for, so buy what you can afford. I think the Lowarnce Mark 5 is a pretty good graph. Eagle's are good also. They are made by Lowrance.
