Hot water tank
 

Having hot water issues at my house......(Dont think the tank holds that much hot water).... but im getting aggravated with taking a 45 second warm shower :pissed:..... Does anyone have a hot water tank for sale ? If not, do you know of anyone selling one.... electric tank please

What size is the tank? Just started with issues?

very small..... Gf can take a shower, then turn it off, i get in and it lasts 45 seconds...TOPS.... im thinking like 20 gallon ??

Well there's ya problem, You take shower 1st & let GF shower 2nd, problem solved! ;)

Do not buy a whirlpool. There nothing but junk. Is it gas or electric.

It might just be an element out. Most water heaters have two heating elements, the bottom one does most of the work and goes out quicker. If it's an element it would only be $10 to $15 to get a new one.

I gotta a fix for you - shower together or You shower first. HaHa!
Seriously, I bet that the lower heating element went out, it gives the same problem - short hot water supply. Problem is, it's sometimes easier to replace the tank than the element. Good luck.

problem is... i dont know where this element is located... im sure i can get one from a hardware store....., just have no knowledge of how to replace it.

drain tank first unless you can pull and replace real quick:smokin:, should be to plates on the side of the tank that you remove and the elements screw in. If you have a multimeter you can ohm out the element and check for continuity. If its open then its bad. oh and dont forget teflon tape.

If it's a 20 gallon, it is 120 volts and has just 1 element.
My dad just got rid of one in early Dec.
It had a lot of sediment in the bottom.
After I changed it out and took it outside, it was 1/2 full
of some clear silicone looking gunk.
It may be the same with yours. If it is old and you are on
a water well, there is no telling what it is full of.
You may just be heating 5 or 10 gallons of water instead
of 20.

someone may chime in but couldnt you just line up the water and flush it? with a hose going outside of course to drain it that is

There is a plug on the top to flush it with.
Just have to remove the bottom inlet.
The 20 gallon water heaters don't have a
flush/drain valve like the bigger water heaters.

If it's less than a 30 gal it's not big enough for 2 people especially with a woman taking a shower!!!!!

Have not read the exact size of the current water heater. Before buying a new one make sure of the exact size you currently have. If the current water heater has been installed 10+ years you would probably do better to replace it.
Are you renting or do you own the place where you live? If renting, then contact the owner to repair/replace the water heater. If you own the place, then consider upgrading to a larger capacity water heater for the future.
