Me and B stealth made a trip this morning...nothing awesome but had a good time...drank some brews and almost melted...My heart was pounding when my rod and reel fell in the water and I made a diving grab just as the cork handle was out of sight. Saved her!! Good times B stealth...TEAM HARDCORE never stops...

good trip guys. I think I need to hear more behind the story of why your rod fell in the water!

Ray 07-20-2009 09:15 AM

I dropped a net in the water when landing a 4 lb. trout on Between the Banks TV show. It was right at the beginning of the show, first fish. But I caught it.

He gave a little bit of info. He just put us in a decent spot West of Leeville, La.
It was O.K., nothing exciting. He usually has a camera man, but he was off
sick. There was a lot of footage cut out. Most of the info. is on the TV show,
not as much in the boat.
He was at a boat show in New Orleans, had his own booth there, and was
looking for fishermen to take out for his show. I guess the economy was hurting
his business cause he told my sister in law that we could go fishing for 2 days,
including bait and 2 hotel rooms for $500, for 4 fishermen.
She signed up her husband and kids, but only one kid wanted to go, so me and
my brother in law's brother got to go too.

He is basically an outdoor TV show producer, not a guide. He is given a boat to
use every year. As well as bait, rod and reels, power pole, clothing... ect., as
long as he plugs their equipment on the show.
Blue Cross insurance is one of his biggest sponsors. The rest are fishing equip.
If you fish, you can also plug your business on the show.
He has to give the old boat back at the end of the season, but gets a new one
in return. He gets to keep all the other stuff.

that's pretty cool man!

SULPHITE 07-20-2009 11:25 AM

CM, throwing a top water and made a cast my bait broke off and with the momentum of the rod it came out of my hands...I imagined i had that deer in the headlight look cause i just watched my rod go sploosh!!! i webt oh s*** and I dove to my knees and reached out and grabbed her...brusied the crap out of my hip and groin on the sides of my boat!! Good save had to sit there and let my heart rate slow down with the rodnreel dripping wet in my hands!!

Rod has a sentimental value as well...

cmdrost 07-20-2009 01:09 PM

good thing your a finely tuned athlete!:D

Was was your deckhand doing in this whole process??? Thats a funny story!:rotfl:

Glad you salvaged the rod.

B-Stealth 07-20-2009 01:45 PM

Rod Retreiver

His deckhand was putting trolling motor in high speed, I wanted to see the big boy do a swan dive for his rod and reel. :rotfl:

I asked him if his next move was to jump in after the rig and he said yes; at this point he remembered he had his I Phone in his pocket.

SULPHITE 07-20-2009 01:48 PM

yes, that would have sucked on a large scale...

cmdrost 07-20-2009 01:51 PM

whew....good save on all accounts.
