I really don't know the correct name for these, but does anyone know where i could buy a couple of these. A buddy of mine needs them for his camp. I have seen them at seafood places they had shrimp stored in them.

I don't know the name, either, but they ship our ice cream and frozen goods from Houston in 'em.

It is called an Insulated Shipping Bin. Nothing really fancy. I work for a Food Distributor. We use them for frozen food, ice cream. We purchase ours from Hobart. Other than that I have no I idea where you could buy one for personal use. I know there are no local distributors. So if you aren't going to buy 10 of them, the shipping is going to kill you. They weigh close to 250lbs.

I would go to a local grocery store and try to see if you can buy one of them. They might have one laying around. The store owners I know would sell thier kidneys for the right price.

How good of shape do they need to be in.......my uncle runs a shrimp factory i can see what he has laying around. Otherwise wait for a hurricane and you can find them floatin all around the marsh.

He wants to use them to store ice at his camp. So i guess shape doesent matter as long as it will hold ice.

I have a friend who has one for a beer cooler. Uses it for Contraband Days.
Gonna talk to him when I get in and see where he got it.
He has rollers on his.

Most shrimpers I know in Cameron built their own.
Some buy them built already. But they are heavier than these.

Try Hilton's Restaurant Supply in Lafayette - ask for Chris Himel.... He should know what you're looking for and either will be able to order it for you or at least he will know how to connect you with the right people. Check 'em out... 337-237-4311
