Personally I don't think it was an accident. The deceased was not a well liked person. Still no reason to leave him out there.

He is the only person I have ever heard my grandfather talk bad about.

Warren - I was not going there, but my dad has shared some stories with me. It appears him and his father were "well known", although my dad has never mentioned him to me before now. This alone makes me think bad things.....if you know my dad!

You guys down around your camps had dealings with him? Here is what gets me - he resides in Kaplan, but had a history of illegal activities in the Basin (which is my stomping grounds). That's a long way from Kaplan.

Running someone elses crawfish or crab traps maybe? That is a big no no

I never had any dealings with him, but he did try to get on my grandfather's shrimp boat to "teach him a lesson". My grandfather was shrimping in White Lake and this guy acted like he owned the lake and I guess he thought because my grandfather was an old man he would scare him out of the lake.

The fella was cited for selling deer meat a few years back along with numerous other illegal activities.

Warren - not trying to hy-jack the thread, but I need to put in my order before I forget!!!!!!!!!! Your uncle use to supply me w/ a big cat for Good Friday meal when I was at Talen's. I will send you a pm to get one ordered!!!!

I will let him know. He was asking about you the other day.

Let me know if you want to run out there one day. Don't know if you ever been to our camps but that is pretty much where he lives.

How could you have forgotten? We rode out there in your tunnel hull when the water was so high following one of the storms. Then we went to my duck lease where we were riding on top of the marsh w/ the outboard! I just knew we were going to get stuck!

Marshrat 02-15-2011 09:37 AM

I remember going to your duck lease but not to our camps. Old age is getting to me.
