Way to go man!
I would say anyone with a 17 year rack record is worth taking a look at.

Hang in there buddy, if you were able to stay employed for 17 years I am sure you will be a very good asset for someone in the near future. Spend some time with that grandchild of yours you posted a picture of not to long ago and keep your head up.

X2 to what everyone on hear has said. I've had a few clients loose their jobs, it hit em hard. But it also opened up new doors that have worked out great for them and their families.

LPfishnTIM 03-21-2011 09:15 PM

that just gives you extra fishing time! hang in there, 17 years at one job shows some dedication and value that doesn't hardly exist anymore, I can't keep helpers who are younger or older than me, there is a lot of people who talk a talk but just don't want to work they get tired of the job after 5-6 months in it.

mikedatiger 03-21-2011 09:20 PM

very sorry to hear that! i will check with some neighbors in the business and see if they know of anything.

meaux fishing 03-21-2011 10:53 PM

sorry to hear about that... something better will come along

Montauk17 03-21-2011 11:10 PM

Just remember everything happens for a reason. Like everyone else said, alot of demand for someone hanging on to a job for 17 years. Good luck

Garfish 03-22-2011 08:07 AM

17 years means loyalty which says a lot for your ethics. Employers look for those qualities. Hang in there!! Something will come up.
