Sac-a-lait Fishing

It was a great run on the spring sac-a-lait but I think I've made my last trip. Kenneth Dugas has been calling to make a trip but the weather never was right. We finally put the trip together and had a respectable catch. We caught 40-45 sacs and Kenneth decided to keep about 20 of the largest ones. They are starting to run much smaller since the spawn is over. Water levels have been on the rise and finding the submerged stumps is getting harder to find. The water has been very stained with the influx of the dirty water from the Intracoastal. We had a great time and its back to what we do best and thats catching speckled trout! Good luck fishing.

Nice slabs Capn.
Thant rod and reel set up looks like an old style automatic fly reel on a fly rod.
