crabbing at weirs

Well I know some would like to see the weirs close but it is a paradise for some people who dont just target trout. I love it since I can go and catch Reds, shrimp, trout and crabs almost anytime during the summer. I love to fish the lake but its hard to bring kids that are just learning the outdoors to have fun in the lake. They get so excited to go and have a place to crab without the hassel of the side of the road. My dad and twins went Sunday for 2 hrs and caught a limit of crabs. They were huge and full!!!!!!
W we didnt burn the bank and stayed clear of the east bank for you!!! LOL

Sweet! I'm sure the kiddos had a blast.

Haha good stuff right there man! I took my girlfriend and her friend over there to load up on the crabs and it didn't take long!

Great pics bro...and I agree that the weirs are a great place to fish and spend time with your family.

They did Gottogo. Pass by when you headed to lake and have time!! SalyShaw they are so full and big. I took about 2 hrs, but it was steady with a few throw backs.

Yes instead of running a motor for 500 hrs in just one year to catch only trout and only on Big Lake:*****:

It would be closer the launch at Heberts landing on the east side of Big Lake to get to the Grand Bayou wier. This is the third wier going south down the east bank. It is the only wier with a boat bay to get back in the marsh.

There are also good spots to catch crabs in the Sabine NR.

cool deal..if i have enough time off between this job and my next id like to take her get some crabs..
