Cypremort Sunset

1 Attachment(s)
Went to cypremort point to service a boat after work today for a friend of mine. Did what I had to do on the boat and decided to wet a line for the last hour or so of daylight. Fished close to the launch with a black/char she dog and stuck 8 trout up to 4 pounds and a bull red that inhaled the bait into the crushers. Heard of a few trout being caught, had to check it out myself. Water was not too clean and the bite was short lived. Not too shabby, also the first time I have ever been to the point and not see another boat.

Yes I had to go the long way around, the stumpy bayou bridge is still being repaired. I talked to a few people about power poles today...did you ask about the talon too? Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Yup

sure did....talked to my brother, Jody, tonight and he said it was you that I talked to.

Yeah, it is crazy to go out there and see zero boats driving all over trying to catch fish...I am sure they may have a few more in the next couple of days ;) Good looking icechest for only an hour.

Was that right outside of Quintana

Montauk17 04-06-2011 04:58 PM

Yep...behind the rocks in the cove. If the wind will not let you drift into the area forget it,trolling motor spooks them.

Are you talking about the small cove behind the rocks to the left as you enter the cove or behind each small set of rocks and the marsh as you go towards the first camps away from the state park?

All of the above, they were chasing mullet back there :D I don't even waste my time in that area on the weekends, people run them off. Hard to think there is still a few trout in the bay, water is fresh like toledo bend. Jared,I stuck a treble in my thumb unhooking the biggest trout...did not feel good.
