There were quite a few interesting boat set-ups I have never seen before. Made the 6.5 hour drive from DFW to watch blast off then hit the lake with longcast...glad they caught fish in the conditions yesterday.

Congrats to everyone who showed up and fished those brutal conditions. I fished that place hard for three days, it was tough. Congrats Anthony on that second place finish, especially for what we had to fish in. It was great meeting everyone and putting faces to screen names. We had a good time. Oh yeah W is a nice guy, nothing like his online persona.

12. JASON ELLENDER-STEVE STRODERD I fished with my dad not Steve. I feel bad for hauling him around in wind and rain all day.

Not an excuse by any means but the fish I found on Fri were still there Yesterday....we just did not use our patience and wait for them....We made two drifts and picked up 8 reds all around 3 and 4lbs and 4 good trout....
We just talked about setting anchor and waiting for them to swim around......we did not go with our instincts and continued to drift..... Well a Guide boat pulled up right behind us and limited out with 20 reds on that spot plus had a bunch over 5 and 6lbs... That was 100% our fault for not sticking on that spot...... I talked to the guide who fished there........ But we learned a good lesson and should of not taken for granted that no one would show up there...... |
should have went to the weirssss
