Making a change
Lookin to change phone companies, I have had Sprint for 8 yrs and was happy till about 3 months ago. I hunt west Texas and north Louisiana and fish pretty much all over so I need a phone with good coverage. I am lookin at Verizon and AT&T and was wondering what yall have and whats the best.

AT&T hands down; I hunt west texas and north LA, fish toledo and big lake, and I have service in all these areas. When I made the switch from sprint to AT&T it was like opening my eyes for the first time. Only complaint is there is only one store in LC area.

X2. At n t. Is ya best bet imo

I'm with AT&T and drop calls like a mudda but reception-wise I have service everywhere i go. (Big Lake, Duck Lease in marsh Pecan Island, in the woods/swamps in St. Francisville, even in the middle of nowhere when I went antelope hunting in Wyoming) I was with Nextel from when they hit the market till about 7-8 years ago. The difference in coverage (AT&T to Sprint/Nextel) is night and day. When I was with Nextel, I used to have to drive about 6 miles from my camp in St. Francisville just to make a phone call.

Thats the problem I am fighting is droped calls, calls going in and out and not being able to call out or recive calls and all this with full tower power. I have talk to Sprint abunch of times in past few months and they know they have a problem but dont know how to fix it or when it will be solved. |
AT&T is horrible with dropped calls now!!! Reception is good, but I have dropped calls every freaking day!! It sucks!

Had Centennial, great phone service and good coverage till Rita hit.
Then I couldn't use it in downtown Cameron, Creole, Grand Chenier and Holly Beach. So I went to Sprint. They have good reception down there. They have good customer sercice but I get a lot of dropped calls, or scratchy calls. Centennial zero dropped calls in 10 years, but they had terrible customer service. Every time I had an issue, the local stores sucked so bad, I ended up calling the national office to get decent service. Centennial had better price plans also. |
It has been several years since I had sprint for service and now have AT&T. One of the things that I did not like with sprint was while at the lake(Toledo) I struggled to get service or none at all. Now with AT&T I have not found a place as of yet, while at the lake, that I do not have service. With AT&T for several years and can count on two hands the total dropped calls. Oh yeah, my biggest discount comes with AT&T service.

If you get Verizon you'll be sorry. AT&T is great compared to verizon.
Once you leave out of the city and enter a rural area verizon is out. |
