Toledo Reports?? San Miguel/1215/Lanan

Heading up to Toledo Friday-Sunday. Will be in the San Miguel area. Anyone have any reports from this area?? Any help would be appreciated.

I caught quite a few fish on crankbaits, shallow and deep. Also redbug worms and watermellon flukes. Biggest fish i caught was shallow, hit a fluke dead sticking. Acutally i was picking a backlash out and the fish was running with the fluke!!! Gotta love a backlash fish!!
Good luck,
Ronnie

I should be up there sunday afternoon or evening. If you see an LSU BassCat, (white boat, gold bolt, purple trim, and flames on the cowling) say hi!!

I launched a couple times at San Miguel state park. My neighbor lets me launch at his house. Very nice of them, btw.

If I leave the boat at the camp, I can make it home in just under 3 hours with the cruise set on 82 although the gas mileage drops to 15 mpg!! Lovin the 75 speed limit on I49!! I work 14/14 so there are a lot of times i'll leave late at night after the wife goes to bed. There was some schooling on the main lake just west of the park too. Not a lot though.

I had some success on Super Spook JR's on Saturday morning. You can't be too early on the water so get out there asap. I was working the spook over grass in 4-6 feet. Walking it really slow and about 1/2 of my strike came when it was sitting still. Lost a really nice fish in the 6 lb range. I had 15 bites in about an hour but nothing after 8:30. Wish I would have been there at the crack of dawn.
