Looking for a place to drop a kayak.
 
I just bought a new kayak and im looking for a spot to get it wet.It will be my first time out so Im looking to fish around lake charles,moss lake,prien lake area.Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The Choupick Bayou would probably be a good place. It is on the other side of the ship channel, but not much boat traffic and smooth in windy conditions. Launch is right at the bridge by an old boat house. It is the bridge just north of the Ellender Bridge.
There are a few kayakers that leave from the 210 launch every evening. I see them just drop it in the water right at the truck and take off fishing just north of the parking lot.

What about west cove area....Is there anywhere I can launch there? Thanks

Yes. I don't know what it is called, but there is a launch by one of the last water control structures to the south on Hwy 27. Right next to the road, close to the lake.
