Mullet is great for smoking .

Keywest18 06-09-2011 03:52 PM

for the mullet i throw them on the grill like u would a red or a drum.just fillet them toss'em on and keep some butter and tonys handy.you csn fry them but to me theyre extremely fishy fried so i just grill them but to each his own

evidrine 06-09-2011 04:04 PM

Hopedale Hustler 06-09-2011 04:07 PM

Keywest18 06-09-2011 04:32 PM

me and my dad woukd go wadin at the beach and throw the cast net over them we'd get any where from 1-20 a throw.its fun but ve sure to keep up with how many u have we almost sunk the boat one day lol.plus it takes a long time to clean 300+ fish.

huntin fool 06-09-2011 05:09 PM

You can have every turd eating mullet on the face of this earth.. I'll pass.. And keep a bass before a mullet

jchief 06-09-2011 05:31 PM

I have eaten mullet that we caught in the ICW in FL. They were good. They taste like sh** from here.

Keywest18 06-09-2011 05:48 PM

i havent tried any from here im sure its because of how muddy the water is compared to FL,AL,MS.im not a big fan of them only time i kept them was with my dad or if he told me to keep an eye out when id go out.they do make grea bait for trotlines though

evidrine 06-09-2011 06:37 PM

Ok, now i see the pictures. Must be blocked on my work computer. lol!

How do you keep it lit?

Keywest18 06-09-2011 08:29 PM

make sure the wood is nice and dry and throw it on top of some coals it'll keep it burnin.and if that fails, option #2 "liquid smoke" never tried it on fish though

iron man 06-09-2011 08:32 PM

Lake Guntersville is a really nice lake. Fished there when I was about 10. Can't remember much about the fishing but it was really nice.

Ray 06-09-2011 08:40 PM

Nice fishes.

I cannot eat Mullet. I heard from some Fla. shrimpers that the Mullet in Fla. is better tasting than in La.
I tried the Mullet in Fla. and it don't taste any different than the ones in La. Yucky.

Keywest18 06-09-2011 09:28 PM

yes lake guntersville is beautiful when we went last october there was an flw tour.but it was neat u could hold crackers out the window and feed deer

fishfinder 06-09-2011 10:58 PM

I will eat most bait: shrimp, crab, and squid. But, the mullet I leave for brother-in-law!!!!
