7-18 Prien Lake / BL / Ship channel

Switching from days to nights, so I decided to get up early and see what I could do. Started in Prien just before the sun came up and got on some school trout. Bite died at sunrise and the tide started to move. Decided to check the bank near the ship channel and found a couple of reds tailing and pounding the shad in 6 inches of water. Plopped a bait right in front of his face and he pounded it. Pretty cool watching a red throw a wake in shallow water while it pulls drag. Picked up a few more fish in the channel near Turners, but the wind was kicking and the water was muddy when I got to BL, so I headed to CP to clean what I had. Lots of throw back trout and had a hard time getting on a consistent bite. That's pretty much how my July is going. Never getting skunked but not killin' it.

Think I saw you in Prien as we were headed out. Good enough catch to keep you going back.

Great Catch.
That flounder would be great with some crab meat stuffing.
The reds are good to me fried or baked.
Just good eating all around.
