Vermilion Bay

After my buddy's boat didn't run, we hooked up to mine and got a late start. Managed 3 reds total, should of been four, buddy missed a 27''/28'' red. The Water is still too fresh! All caught around the Game Warden Canal. Water was alot cleaner than the tournament. All in all, good day, good time, will try to post pics tomorrow!

you would have to go outside the pass.....Tiger S for sure...maybe Nickle, dimond, or T-Butte....was out their last Friday-Sunday and the water was fresh enough to drink in the bay.

I heard they are out at the rigs. Tiger shoal, SMI blocks, some of the closer Vermillion blocks, etc.

Has anyone heard anything from Eugene Island area?

The River at Butte LaRose is below 10' and droppin, Shouldn't they move into the bay anytime now?

Shouldn't be long especially with this weather system pushing some saltwater in

skyln95 07-29-2011 09:45 AM

bring on the salt water intrusion already. geez.

Montauk17 07-29-2011 11:27 AM

Usually the bay does not start holding trout in good numbers untill the river gets to 7 foot and under at butte larose.

look for river level to 8ft and if the wind ever changes, look out! plus the rain doesnt help. right now you have to fish west.

Opinions_Vary 07-29-2011 02:06 PM

South West blows in good water south east blows in river water

morning xpress 07-29-2011 02:58 PM

i think any thing other than south east would be good right now.
