BL - 7/30 Night Trip

I had the family out tonight under the stars. We finished at midnight with our 60 trout limit. The fish were caught both under a cork and on the bottom with plastic and live shrimp. We were sitting on the east bank with the favorable wind conditions yesterday. My oldest son thought he had a "monster trout", well he did not have a trout but he did get to experience his first oversized drum, seeing him fight in on 10lb test was awesome. We were able to release the fish alive.

No way, we let that nasty guy back in the water to fight another day. I have a no drum over 22 inches rule on my boat for if and when we do decide to keep them. W is going to be disappointed in me but we do keep drum sometimes, just never the large ones and usually not when we are on other "game fish".

casey i have a 24 foot party barge and would like to set it up.pm me with info i have a 4year old grandson that lives to hunt and fish i checked with a guide to bring him catch some trout.i even said i would help him fish and i wouldnt but he said his insurance wont allow under 7 on boat.he said thats the rule and they half to wear life vest.well my grand son is use to being on boat and his life vest stays on from dock to dock it never comes off.but he said 7 is youngest.

Great job Casey! Reminds me of when my son was little and fishing with me. Now he just exhausts my bank account while in college. However he is coming in next weekend and I hope to get him on some fish for a couple of days.

Below is one of the lights, I have 4. Call LMC Marine in Houston (one of our sponsors) they had their aluminum guy who is also a member of our site set up everything for me. If you do it, you want to have an inverter style generator, or a very nice box for a traditional generator because of the noise. The 6300 watt inverter style generator is just over 3K and the lights will run you $350 to $450 each not counting any cost for mounting. Lastly, LMC had to install some type of special insert because of all of the electricity mixed with the boat or they were told the boat would not last two years. Again I know nothing about this, you will want to call David at LMC about it.

Looks like yall had fun Casey. You need a bigger net. LOL

The boys look excited. Bet it takes a while for them to "calm" down after they get in.
