This might be a stupid question!!

Does anything bigger than a trout hit the top of the water like a trout? If not there was a monster at LNG Saturday! They were on the bank of LNG so we couldn't go get em legally but I'm not lying when I say the spray from the pop was at least 4' high and thick. Only a big a** fish could have done this. I've never seen anything like it!!!!!!!

Maybe a tarpon....

evis102 08-15-2011 07:30 PM

Those big ribbon fish will slap hard we caught some 4.5 one day...from a distance thought they were giant trout till we got on em....

bluewing 08-15-2011 07:40 PM

redfish?

fishin 08-15-2011 07:51 PM

Redfish roll and ribbon fish usually come out of the water. I know nothing about tarpon though. Is it possible that a tarpon would be at LNG amongst a lot of smaller trout?

That video was made just before the 500 foot safety distance went into effect.

Yes, they will mess with you if you ever look like you are getting close......so I have heard.
