Boat recommendation
Hey all. I currently have a bass boat and am thinking about transitioning to a bay boat. I really like the 19&22 foot Makos but keep reading bad talk about Mako.
I would like something in the 19-22 foot range. I fish big lake often and vermilion bay occasionally. I also will do some fresh water. I would like to buy something used for less than 20K. Please post your recommendation. Thanks |
Welcome to the forum :)
What will you be selling, bass boat wise ??? Thanks, Hydro |
Thx for the welcome.

I sold my 22' Pathfinder earlier this year and would recommend that hull, got burnt out on the potlickers and bought something to get away from everyone else...
Stand by, there will be lots of suggestions for you coming up shortly ... Hydro |

Do you know what a potlicker is ??? |
First off I recommend at least a 21' boat. If you get a 19 you'll be looking to buy again the next year, trust me. Especially in vbay, the bay can be extremely rough and the gulf can be smooth in the same day. I have a 19' nautic star and it seems to fall right between the swells every time. With your price range I'd also say the pathfinder, blazer bays, kenners, Mako (i think they are nice) and frontiers would be a good place to start looking. These are some of the makes that you can find used closest to your price range without giving up much quality/appearances or at least that's what I think. I'm waiting on a good deal for a triton, blackjack, nautic star, blazer or even those fusion pathfinders. Things are sweeeeet

Blazer Bay

Everyone will have a opinion on what brand is best. Buy the biggest boat you can afford and try before your buy,in rough water if possible.

I'm shopping also, anyone have any opinions on Xpress boats?

Find an old Kenner 95-05 yrs.

i agree with jpeff and montauk all the boats jpeff named are great boats and always buy the biggest you can afford and the biggest motor. i have an 18' nautic star and i love it but its not that good in rough water go with a 22' or even 24' if you can find one in your price range

i got a 2110 nautic star with an f150, love the layout, but the blazer bay 2020 rides better.
