8 reds, 4 specs 4 flonder. Caught w/ live bait and plastic. Found a huge school of reds in the channel under birds. Didn't last long but was fun.

I am coming down this weekend from Shreveport bringing my bass boat. Have not fished Prien Lake before. The forecast looks like some gusty north winds. Is the lake sheltered at all or should i just wait for a better forecast to use a boat?

They are forcasting 6-10" of rain and gusty winds from this afternoon thru monday . I wouldn't even think about being out on the lake . (i'm sure that some will though)

Were you fishing with your wife and did you share your redfish report with a fellow in an aluminum boat across from L'Auberge? That was me.
I caught and released a few trout and 2 reds. It was a pleasant day on Prien.

Yes, that was me! And you are right, great day on prien, no wind and hardly any boats. See you in the lake next time!

I would wait big time. There are some spots that are protected, but getting there may not be possible

trophytroutman 09-01-2011 08:41 PM

Not bad at all.

Changing plans. Heading to Arkansas to fish for Walleye. Will try again in the near future to get down south. Thanks for all the info!
