Varmint Rifle

Varmint Rifle. . .I need to take care of a couple of coyotes that often visit during my foaling season. Greatest distance would be 300 feet. What would be best rifle, not brand, but caliber for this job.

17hmmr...hit it and it runs off and....you know the rest....rip coyots

southern151 09-21-2011 09:29 PM

.17 for sure! If ya use polymer tips, its not likely they'll run off! They're now apt to come apart! Lol

SULPHITE 09-21-2011 09:31 PM

bohunterbiff 09-21-2011 09:32 PM

Gotta agree.......17hmr....unless you can afford the .204 which is just plain fun!

yea any thing wsm or wssm ain't cheap but they some bad rounds, I have a 270wsm and that sucker is pretty sweet

bjhooper82 09-21-2011 11:42 PM

I love my .223 wssm but the bullets are getting harder and harder to find. My wife actually shot a doe last year at 105 yards with it and the damage it did blew me away. She only ran about 40 yards and took a dirt nap.

weedeater 09-21-2011 11:51 PM

Gander Mountain is where I seen them and they normally have several boxs

bjhooper82 09-22-2011 12:04 AM

Yeah, bass pro has them on their website and I can order them on customcartridge.com also but they are like $60 a box on there.
