Camp in Venice

Realistically, what would I be looking at spending on a houseboat in one of the marina slips down there?

Basically what I'm asking is... do any of you have a place down there? and how much do you have invested in said place? Trying to just get a ball park figure. I don't have a houseboat.. would have to purchase one or build one. what do you guys recommend?

not sold on the houseboat idea.. other suggestions are welcome. TIA

I know after katrina and rita some of the places down there will not allow houseboats.
So i'm sure space is at a premium???

i seen some houseboats for rent. but no open slips to house a house boat....

Had friends who had one at Cypress Cove, it ended up in the dry stack building for Katrina, but it survived. They don't allow them anymore, but Venice Marina has them all now.

If you go houseboat, consider coming back north to Empire behind the levee.
Better chance of having one last.

There are a couple for sale around that area now I think.
It's a twenty minute hall in the morning, but ...........

Not sure really, but it's right after you cross the bridge at Empire on the left.
Quick to get out the locks too.
Delta Marina may have that information.
