8-26-09 Big Lake Blowout!

Well guys I did it again. I hit the lake this morning bright & early. I put in @ Calcasieu Point & took 3 of my friends out to catch some trout. We ended up with 30 sand trout, 20 specks & 5 reds. The water looked awesome in the lake & the fish were biting all day long. The weatherman finally got it right with the wind today!

Nice haul! Your friends certainly had some good action. How was the tide movement today?

jsmoke222000 08-26-2009 04:41 PM

Tide seemed to be coming in until around 11:30 then it started back out. The lake was slick calm most of the morning.

About to unleash some eels on em tomorrow!!!

jsmoke222000 08-26-2009 04:45 PM

All they wanted was live shrimp today. Sometimes it's just like that.

jsmoke222000 08-26-2009 04:47 PM

I threw eels also. Didn't even get a nibble. Tried glow & chartruese, opening night, lime truese, ect. Nothing but live shrimp worked.

I will wait till you are in NOLA before I go fishing again.
That way I won't jinx your fishing with bad weather.

jsmoke222000 08-26-2009 05:22 PM

I was really suprised @ how many sand trout we caught. I have never caught that many on big lake.
