Need Some Input for a Boat Launch Survey

I am currently enrolled in a Marketing course that is taking a look at the Boat Launch in Delcambre and trying to improve it. What I need is some potential customer input to add to our project proposal. If ya'll would not mind helping me out anyway ya'll can, that would be great. If you could answer any of the questions below that would really help us out. I do not want to include exactly what is being considered right now to bias the survey. If you would like more information you can send me a PM and I will give you what I know or wait til next week after our project is over and I will share on this site the results.

1. Have you or anyone you know ever used the Delcambre Boat Launch?
2. How often do you use it?
3. What are some problems you see with it?
4. If there was a new launch with plenty of parking would you use the launch?
5. What else would you like to see next to the launch?
6. If there was a dry boat storage next to the launch how many of you would use it?
7. What size boat(s) do you have?

Thank you soo much for your time and help!!!

1. Have you or anyone you know ever used the Delcambre Boat Launch? yes
2. How often do you use it? not often
3. What are some problems you see with it? no parking, the launch is VERY tight. after launch your boat is right up on that corner where it enters the canal. hard to make an approach when you are loading up.
make a no parking zone in front of that bar, when large trucks park there its hard to line up your vehicle to launch.
There are some huge bolts sticking out of the bulkhead where you tie up, just waitin to poke a huge hole in the side of my boat.
4. If there was a new launch with plenty of parking would you use the launch? yes
5. What else would you like to see next to the launch? another parking lot, cleats to tie up on
6. If there was a dry boat storage next to the launch how many of you would use it? no
7. What size boat(s) do you have? 18'

First, Thank you for your response. Yes, I am aware of the plans. We are working directly with the Port Commission on this and I am simply getting info for the report. Thanks again.

Great, I guess maybe I didn't catch that part in your initial inquiry. I am hoping this will come to pass, as the landing is only like 10 mins from my house and would definately use it more if it were more user friendly! Of course that landing has been there for as long as I can remember. I remember going to that landing with my grandfather as a young kid, maybe 6-7 years old, and I am 46 now so, it's been there a while.

Thanks duckfreak for sharing and all those who have posted a response so far. If there are any more please share, Thanks. Any other ideas/extras anyone would like to see can be added to the questions.

Commercial or public launch? Would use it either way as long as it was less than $5.00/day and had plenty and safe parking. 18' boat. no storage required (which leads me to suspect private/commercial).

Sounds like they are taking a free lauch away, they are not going to fix anything if they are not charging for it.You could put a triple launch there and some yaho would block all 3 lanes

Public...our team is just considering other options to go along with the launch. The boat launch will remain Public though.

Thank all of you for the help. This survey is CLOSED! We presented our proposal to Delcambre last night. I am listiing their website with some information about the boat launch, marina and seafood market. Delcambre is making some great strides with the recovery from past storms and are moving forward to turning things around. I cannot wait for the Launch to open and all the things else that is developing there. Thanks again for all ya'll help.
