Anyone goose hunting?
We haven't hunted since Sunday. Me and my dad have both been busy, him with work, and me with school. He passed by both our fields this afternoon on his way home and said they both are holding a lot of birds. Everyone on the farm about a mile north of us that we lease to has been killing limits of specklebellies. It's killing me to be working on this school work instead of out hunting. I have to give a presentation tomorrow so I can't hunt, but my dad has a group and he is going to Klondike. We both will be hunting customers both Saturday and Sunday and I'm excited. I think it will be good. I don't wanna count my chickens before they hatch, but I think it will be easy pickings.
Anyone else been goose hunting? |

first part of the week we did pretty good on specks but yesterday and today were pitiful. not much movement at all. hoping there will be more pressure tomorrow to get some in the air. change in wind direction should help us out too
|
Man i want to get afer them specks, but our blind in lyons point just ain't holding many right now. Plus to many ducks in gc to leave them alone.
|
Well my old man scratched this morning. Didn't even take the gun off safety. Said he saw about 3 groups of specks all morning in Klondike, they just didn't move at all. I went to welsh at about 830 to touch up the blind and could have shot all the snows and specks I wanted too just sitting on a levee pass shooting. They were bodied across the road to the north and to the east of us. There were about 300 or so using our field, but for the most part they were crossing low. I think I should be able to talk a limit of specks in tomorrow, we shall see

today was definitely tough. we had the same problem with lack of movement. we ended up getting 5 nice specks but were very fortunate to get those

Slow day for us as well. My dad hunted in Klondike and they killed 2 specks and 3 snows. He didn't see the numbers we have seen before. It's wierd
I hunted in welsh and both bodies were there like yesterday. Every bird in that area went straight to either body. Didn't even give me a look, a turn, or even the middle finger. It's like I didn't exist. Had one group of 6 give it up and my guys rolled 4. That was it |
Going to gc in the morning hope they want to work
|
5 specks and 3 snows this mornin south of welsh. Birds flew for about 30 minutes then shut it down. The birds we killed came in with plans on lighting so it was fun to shoot some specks. Once they quit flyin I mean they quit. Waited about 2 hours on that last speck and didn't even have an opportunity. Good hunt though.

Got em today. It was tough but we got a limit. The only 3 groups that broke came in on a string. Other than that, they were fixed in on that body
|
Another scratch for us today. Big body finally showed up in the area though.

Had quite a few geese flying around big pasture road today.
We walked out with 3 so nothing special on ducks. |
