Crappie Fishing

Does anyone here on SC crappie fish? If so, where are the best lakes to fish. I will be in the area later this month from GA.

Yep. But I like it in the dead of winter. They bunch up deep deep schooling on tiny shad. You can get your 50 fish limit real fast on shiners. We went over new years last year and limited in 2 hours.

Hey Fleak, what part of Ga are you from?

Montauk17 12-07-2011 07:21 PM

I don't do much crappie fishing. I fish for sacalait in the atchaf. basin though.

They are thick in Toledo Bend during the Fall also.

Toledo is where its at..freezing cold in the old river bottoms. You may not have to fish as deep with it as low but im sure 30'-40' deep when you can get on 'em.

you got it man!! it usually gets right for me when the water temps drop into the 40's. drop that ol shiner down to the bottom in 25-30 feet, three cranks up and hold on! seems like if i go deeper than 30 feet, i catch alot more catfish and yellow barfish.
