Duck species to mount
 
If you could pick just one duck to mount and keep what would it be? Mine would be a bufflehead drake even though it's a little bird the colors on them i think are beautiful.

Got a big ole greeny and a weidgon mount.. next I'd probably do a a snow goose like above mount!

I got a single greeny, a pair of mallards, a pair of pintails, and a tree duck mounted. A drake widgeon is next on my list to mount. I just can't kill one! Haven't killed one in years. Had a big flock come on us the other morning. Should have taken em but tried to let them make another pass.

Yea I was pumped up.......Had 2 leg bans and one Neck...

And I shot it hunting with my Old Man...... He was pumped up also...

They have three come in and this one was the last of the three..

We shot the 1st two and my dad was out of shells.I had one shot left and by this time it was getting higher... Pulled the trigger and broke its wing...I had to chase about half mile:pissed:

Beautiful Spec, even if it didn't have bands. Look at all the black bars. Belly is almost solid black.

I killed a juvy speck one time that had a neck collar and both legs banded. I took the bands off wanting to kill one just like w's to mount, but lost all the bands.

Those pintail are bad arse!!! If i could only have one duck mounted it would be a wood duck....pintail second....

I think one of the best looking ducks is a late season drake shoveler:). I can count on one hand how many shovelers I have killed there are not many in the places I hunt. Favorite duck is a pintail though, just don't get to shoot many of them, maybe ten in my lifetime.

Hooded Merganser Drake.....love the crest on the drakes. Small duck but beautiful.
