Odd Couple

sitting in the deer stand saturday evening in between a pond and some flooded land i saw the oddest duck couple swim by my stand, had a hooded morganser hen swimming around with a wood duck drake, didn't see any deer but i thought that was interesting enough to share, have any of you see this before? any one else experience some odd couples in the wild like that? Please leave out the stories of the odd couples you see at the local walmart:shaking:

Seen both of those share a wood duck box before. Not really 'share', but the wood duck will go in the box and dump her eggs on top the merganser eggs or vice versa. If the merganser sits on the eggs and they hatch the woodie ducklings will end up dying usually because the merganser takes her brood out to deep water and the little woodies can't get to the food. If the woodie broods, then the merganser chicks will usually make it because they can survive in shallow or deep water.
