Selling a Boat and Trailer in Louisiana

Looking for some info. I am selling a flat boat, trailer and motor to an out of state buyer. I have never sold a boat to a private buyer. What paper work is needed to complete the sale? Do I need to remove the plate from the trailer like a vehicle? I know that I need transfer the title of the trailer to the buyer but not sure what I do with the registration of the boat if anything.

Thanks

Bill of sale Notarized. Remove plate before turning rig over to new owner. They can travel home on bill of sale Just put all numbers on bill of sale.

Go to the Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries Website and you can download the necessary forms to do it correctly. Just click and print.

Plate

not sure about trailer plates, but you have to turn in car/truck plates to DMV when you sell one.

No need to turn in the plate
