Places for rent around Big Lake

I have been considering a move to Big Lake area for some time now, just had to get the divorce out of the way and settled.... I have been pre-approved and have an agent in Lake Charles, but here is the deal.... I have to be out of my place in May, and want to rent a place around the Lake Charles area to make it easier to look at houses/camps (currently in Lafayette). Does anyone know of any decent places to rent around the area, preferably with a place to keep my boat and a place that would not require a 6 month lease? Or a good website to look for rentals in the area? Also, if anyone knows of any camps for sale around the 200K range let me know!

Thanks!!

I live at Heberts marina, there are several camps for sale right now but most are pretty high, there is a new construction camp near me on Kayleigh lane that I believe is going for 250 grand, heard a rumor that it may be going in foreclosure though, may be able to get a deal.

Call Big Lake guest houses, Rachel Abadie is my cousin, great girl and will help you out. They have rentals but may require a lease but talk to them.

Since Rita and Ike, it will be hard to find any rental property in the Big Lake area.
You can find some decent priced houses to buy, but not on the water.
On the water is prime property in that area.
But I did see a nice 2 BR house in Hackberry, on the water a couple months ago that was going for $160K, with boat stall. That is a steal if it is still not sold.

I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house with single boat house for sale in Hackberry for that price AND IT WILL BE SOLD FURNISHED.
Not posted yet but available in very near future for sale or rent.

Thanks for the responses guys... Capt PD, I'll be on the lookout. Are you going to list it with an agent?

There is quit a few camps and houses for sale in @ Hebert marina area and a few are on the water (water front camps/houses run from 400k-800k)

And like BigLakeTiger said Rachel has some long term rental camps...... There is a few right now that are open for rent from 900-1500 per month

Rachell Boudreaux just put a for rent sign in her camps front yard also. This is a brand new camp and she rents long term. I don't know the cost but think in the 1200 to 1500 range. If interested PM me for her number. This camp is located on the middle road at Heberts bout half way down.

There a nice lil house for lease in my neighborhood in south lake charles, university subdivision. Could keep you closer to town while you get acquainted with the area. Want details?
