first report----Awesome weather!!

Hopefully everyone took advantage of the weather and hit the water this weekend! We went out yesterday out of freshwater city and headed south. Found a grass line about 30 miles out and fished that for a bit with no luck. Not surprising considering our limited experience level. After that, jumped to a couple of nearby rigs. Water was a nice blue-green with about a 15 - 20 ft visibility. We were hoping to see if we could coax a few mangrove out. But, the only snapper biting were reds so we caught and released them for a couple of hours. Couldn't keep them but they sure are fun. Even though we didn't bring anything home, it was still great to get out on the water. Hopefully there will be many more weekends like this one as the year progresses.

Have a great week everyone!!

Which direction did you fish in? I went out Sunday and hit 4 platforms/well heads and all of them had mangroves at them. 3 of them even had a few ling around.

We were at verm 119 block which is SSW of freshwater city. I am sure there were plenty of mangrove there also but as I am still a novice and learning, the mangrove were definately smarter than us!:)

Next time will be better!!
