west cove launch? but you better have it on your mind if the tide is rolling.......also heberts is good you can go north of the camps this is a good area that is not far. you can put in at cal point and fish LNG which is to your east of the launch

yes go north from the launch there is a flat on the north side of the camps starting at the last camp . also several channels that go into that small marsh. i have caught several reds along that bank to

Get it. Love Mine. West Cove launch is where we put in mostly. Good marsh and only a few miles to the reefs. Tide does rip sometimes though.

bgizzle 04-03-2012 04:52 PM

When the tide rips is it hard to catch a grip on the yak?

There are several marhes off the Hog Island gully boat launch [Sabine NR] canal that are mostly protected areas from the wind and short paddles.

Ever thought about the Hobie Outback as it is half the weight and still has the stability to standup if sight casting. I like the pa but it is a big boat.

bmac 04-03-2012 10:52 PM

I had an outback and a pro angler. At 260 I could stand in the outback but only to take a leak in calm water. I could fish and everything else in the PA.

From what I remember it would have to be a hell of a tide to put a strain on a mirage drive. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

PA without a doubt. Thx for all the help. If anyone wants a new yak partner I will be getting mine soon like tomorrow. Pm me I want to start fishing asap

RAGINJROB 04-04-2012 01:27 PM

There is a few people going out Fri, launching at West Cove. Check out LKFC and get in on the trip.

What kind of anchor should I get a Cajun pole anchor or the trolley anchor system?

RAGINJROB 04-04-2012 02:22 PM

I use a dumbell off the back. Fast and easy. I will see if I have pics from my PA to show you. Where are you getting your PA from?

bgizzle 04-04-2012 02:36 PM

Pack and paddle

RAGINJROB 04-04-2012 02:47 PM

Oh yea! Talk to Skip. He will hook you up with any install you need.

bgizzle 04-04-2012 03:14 PM

How long r they

bgizzle 04-04-2012 03:15 PM

In other words will it ride in the back of my f150 half ton strapped down

RAGINJROB 04-04-2012 03:39 PM

13'10" I think. Will fit but will work better with bed extender. They like $40 at Harbor Freight if they still got them.

bgizzle 04-04-2012 04:12 PM

Thx
