De-wifing the boat
 

Some of my buddies describe the annual process of "de-wifing the boat." The secret for anglers who prefer their wives not accompany them is to invite their wife along on a windy spring day, seat her in the front of the boat, and take a route to and from their fishing areas that ensure a good pounding. I prefer to have my wife fishing with me whenever possible.

JDM4x4 and I got caught in a storm last monday on the south end of big lake...He had his mom with him in their boat, when we made it back to the landing I asked her.."well..is that your last fishing trip"...she just laughed and said nope, BACKFIRE!!!

Yeah she is ready to go again. But this should work 99% of the time.

Here's my wife and I fishing together in Cook Inlet. It was Summer in Alaska! We also fished in Resurrection Bay and in the open Pacific Ocean. We caught halibut, salmon, and sea bass. Loads of fun.

I had long promised to take my wife to Alaska for our 20th wedding anniversary, and I managed to sneak in a few fishing trips. I grew up in Louisiana, so I try and make a trip down every year or two. We'll be hitting Grand Isle and Calcasieu this summer. We live in Colorado now, so I've taken to fishing the reservoirs for trout. I've managed to bounce around from different jobs in Ohio, New York, Michigan, and North Carolina also, so I've fished there too. If I find myself in Florida or South Carolina, I'll try and sneak in a trip if I can.

Louisiana is my favorite, by far. My kids love it too, especially my youngest son.

How bout a hijack??? What do you do for a living to be able to travel so much?

My plans is similar but I added having her tie up to a rig in about 3 footers. Has never been in my boat since.

I think he does some kind of balistics testing

My wife loves to fish. I can't hardly go without her and I like it that way. In fact she is the one who does not want to leave most times.

I'm a college professor, Math now, Physics in some past jobs. For the last three years I've been at the Air Force Academy, which is a great place to work. I was bouncing around for a few years having a hard time finding an institution that was a good match for my convictions regarding academic rigor and the work ethic young people should have. Not all my job exits were voluntary, as I staunchly refused to pass students who had not earned a passing grade. I hope to remain in my current position for a long time. Since USAFA grads are destined for USAF careers, the Air Force has not allowed standards of academic rigor to be lowered, unlike many state schools which are producing many graduates who are skilled at partying but not really ready for the workforce.

During our Alaska trip, we stayed at one of the military resorts in Seward, AK, which is a beautiful place, and one of the benefits of being a DoD employee.

Ballistics and blast are two of my areas of research. My wife is a scientific collaborator and a co-author on many of my papers. She has a keen mind, a great heart, and steers me away from a lot of bad ideas.
