Holly Beach
Headed to Holly Beach Fri Sat and Sunday. Never fished there before, so I could use any info I can get about it. We are staying in the campers that you rent by the beach. Thanks!

Obey the signs where it says you can't drive on the beach. Head west to the rocks and hope for north wind. Good luck. I may be down there Saturday I'll be in a tan F-250 with Salty Cajun / Duce Rod stickers on glass.

with a strong south wind for the next several days, the water will look like yoohoo at the beach. better bring cut baits, heavy weights and LOTS of beers! :smokin:

Cameron jetties may be an option if the beach waters are muddy--at least you'll have some structure to keep bait fish in the area.

what makes a north wind good and a south wind bad?

South wind makes the waves on the beach big and stirs up the silt. North winds make the waves lay

For plan B
Bring stuff to catch some crabs. Go back up Hwy 27 about 6 or 7 miles to the "West Cove" boat launch. This is part of the Sabine Refuge.....so read up on all the regulations or you may get a ticket for doing something wrong.
You should be able to catch several dozen crabs in a couple hours.
