Fresh Water City ?
I know there is a launch near the old Ice House going to Talen's Dock. What kind of shape is it in, can you launch a bay boat there? If not where is the best place to lauch to head off shore. Thanks guys

What you gonna do out there when one them storms hits like caught us last time...hmmmm???
Larry wants to go in his buddies boat. I may go also, he said that is where they used to launch yrs ago.
not the one you told me about with no tools and broke down story???? that boat??
Yeah and out of gas, that story. I'll be in my boat though.... lol
yea deff. go with another boat!!
the launch sucks and there is no parking really but I launch my 24' triton there. you could launch at rollover but the launch and parking situation isnt really better and you have to pay to launch there
Thanks for the info, I know there isn't much parking but I could park down in the curve I guess. Just wondering if it was doable. Thanks again.
The launch is not that great but it's doable and it's never crowded. Most of the time we just park by the curve. Low tide can be a pain if your boat has a big draft, just have to pay a little more attention. other than that, it's a good place to put in and get right to the gulf.

Have you looked at Acadiana Marina? I haven't been there in years and don't know the condition of the launch, but it would sure beat the hell out of driving down the gravel road!!! It would be a longer run to the gulf though.
I think Acadian marina is private now but I could be wrong.

Isn't alot of gravel anymore, most of it has gotten paved.
FYI, the landing might be closed to the public pretty soon. It's privately owned and the owners are thinking about making it permit only to launch.

Romo.... Just checking before I drive all the way down there? Is that launch still open?
last time down there, we had to get them to open the locks to flood the canal to launch. there was maybe 6" of water by the ramp
That is Shi**y launch right south of the locks?
Thanks for the info |
