The Flats

What's the average depth of The Flats, I have a regular bass boat a wondering if I go back there if I'll get stuck.

I would not go all the way in the back u need to say at the edge and fish drop off. The flats have about 2-3 foot of water in places and shallower in some

The ones I fish on average about 1 foot, tide depending. The way to run the marsh is to plane off in the channels and not come off plane on the flats. If you can eat mud and make it to the channel you got it.

Personally, I would not try it in a bass boat. Those things draw a lot of water. I would think it would be near impossible to get it off of a flat if you got stuck. Assuming you have a big motor and all....Also, the mud if soft on flats. You would probably have to walk the water to deeper water which would be a big time hassle.

Be careful and always make sure you have a channel to go toward.
