Marine VHF Radio Question
 

I searched most of the forum threads for information but found nothing.

I recently won a Marine VHF Radio. I know that in the 1990's it was required to purchase a license to "legally" use a VHF Radio. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Thanks in advance for the help.

I cant imagine that to be the case.......how would they monitor that?

You are suppose to have a license but no one gets one!

Commercial vessels, six pac and up require license...

Recreational boaters are considered voluntary users and license isnt required...
