question about eggs

How many eggs do you typically eat in a Weeks time? I average around 3 for breakfast and sometimes another 3 for dinner depending if im lazy and dont want to cook a big meal. So I would say around 20-25 eggs. How many chickens would I need to keep me from going to the store? I would like to have some extra cause my lil boy is starting to steal my food now :pissed:

This is what I'm doing, about to get my second round. Then the third time I buy more the first bunch is going in the freezer.

I usually get one egg per hen per day when they are laying good. They go thu some dry spells where they don't lay for awhile too so to get 6 eggs a day regularly I would think you'd need about 8 or 10 hens at least.

Watch out for broody hens, they'll just sit and not lay...pick the eggs up every day to prevent this. They'll also go through a molting period where they wont lay so keep that in mind.
