Big Lake 6/9

My Camp podna and I got an early start Saturday as we knew the wind would be slack and the Topwater action would be on. Well, the wind was wicked, as everyone saw, but did keep the temps down. We fished West, South and West started with Tops and ended with sacrificing some shrimp. Wound up with 13 nice trout, 7 Reds and a new boat record...........It was a first for me to witness. And yes, the Skitterwalk lived to fish another day. It was a nerve-wracking extraction.

Saw some monster ones in west cove Saturday morning. I like that last pic. Pretty cool....

Nice gar. I know some people who would have been happier to have caught that instead of 15 trout!!
|
Sweet last pic. Did you think you had a record trout when it hit?

All I could think of was.......why am I not signed up with a 12# Trout on the end of my line. |
You can't put a nasty fish like that in a BlackJack! I would not want to clean that beast for sure.
