West Cove Canal south of Hackberry is a good spot in the fall. Not sure about summer. If you have a boat you can go down the canal a bit toward West Cove and anchor on the side and crab out of the boat. Wife and I went last fall and caught a bunch.

full moon during the summer but honestly during hot weathers crabs may not always be around but im sure some small ones wud be around but like electricchkicken said the fall is the best timing.. always catch shrimps crabs way better in the fall than during summer times.

we used to go to Grand Isle in July every summer. some friends would always crap on the beach and catch them.

thanks for the advice guys. we won't be bringing a boat with us so if you know of any decent bank fishing spots it would help. thanks again.

Crab and fish right on the beach.

There are a tons of options down there. You can fish in the surf or the cameron jetties. For crabbing try hackberry or johnson bayou. We use to catch a lot in the surf either with nets or traps.

Head down Highway 27 south and any of the recreation areas off the side of the highway are good options. You will see signs and large docks for you to fish or crab off of. While nothing is a sure bet you can typically catch fish or crabs at any of these places. You may not set the world on fire, but should be able to do some good. Get there early or you won't get a spot though. Hope this helps.
