Speck limit??

Thinking about making an offshore trip out of the mermentau river some time soon. Ive been told that we can only have 15 fish per person and others say we can have 25. Can someone clear this up for me???

specktator 07-06-2012 08:56 AM

Call Lake Charles LDWF office and ask.

You can't possess more than 15 per person anywhere in Cameron parish waters

Cajuncrappie 07-23-2012 06:49 PM

Yea call the dwf dummy you must be from rayne

Speck limit is 2 per person state wide. If you kill a Canada it takes away one of your specks...oh wait... My mind was in another place!

Come on November!

25 out of there..... I fish there when the rigs are right

100% 25 on the mermentau and offshore... If your parked at grand Chenier park or little chenier ...

I have been fishing down there for years....

What about if you drive in and surf fish in the Johnson Bayou. Is that 15 or 25?

Bob..... the eastern boundry is Hwy 27 coming down south from Homewood. Then at Creole the line still goes straight south down Hwy 82 until you come to Oak Grove. Hwy 82 turns east there towards Grand Chenier.

At Oak Grove the boundry of the 15/25 trout limit.....keeps going staight south down to near the mouth of the Mermentau river and runs along the western shore of the river. From there the line goes straight south in the Gulf of Mexico, on out the "limit of the state territorial sea".

The town of Grand Chenier and all of the Mermentau river are in the 25 trout limit area. This area is also in Cameron parish.
