Scope opinions

Just bought the wife and I a 444 H&R. I have a Simmons 8 point scope that I took off of one of my rifles sitting at the house that I would like to put on it, but was told that due to the recoil that I may want to look at buying a muzzle loader scope. This gun will only be used a few times per year and would like to use the scope I already have. What would you do?

Get a nikon pro staff or buckmaster 3-9x40. That's what I got on my muzzleloader.

I really didn't elaborate to him what kind of scope I had, he just said that a normal rifle scope wouldn't hold up to the recoil. Does this hold true or a bunch of BS. I've never had any problems with the 8 point except it fogs up pretty bad in cold weather. This gun will pretty much only be used the last week of October.

Zeiss scopes are what I use and they'll stand up to .50 bmg recoil and not fog in winter best scope I found 4X12X50 davari is on all my guns except ar

I have a regular nikon on my .444 with no problems. Had a simmons on my .270 and it also fogged up bad, replaced it with a nikon.
