Cameron Parish Ticket

I know alot of you are from around the Lake Charles area. Do any of you have some kind of hook up that ya'll can help a fella get a speeding ticket "taken care of". I got it at 2:30 yesterday morning in Cameron. Any help is very much appreciated! :help:

I was born and raised there. I lived there for 36 years. If you are not from there, you are not going to get out of paying for it. But if you talk to the Sheriff or D.A., a lot of times you can pay just the court cost and it not go on your record.
The current Sheriff is pretty strict. Locals were overlooked when they ran boat trailers without license and lights. Now they are ticketed. It is hard to get out of paying. The tax base is so low since Rita and Ike drove everyone out of Cameron. The only way to make money down there for the Sheriff's Dept. is with the tickets.
Court cost run around $100, but that was before Rita. Not sure now.
I will make a few calls and get back to you.

Thanks a bunch! I knew it would be hard, just because of the reasons you stated.

I got one doing 79 in 55!! also...Due Oct 19....Hook a Bro UP...

I am working on it. You cannot get it fixed thru the Sheriff anymore. You have to go to the D.A.'s office. The Assist. D.A. was my divorce lawyer. I am working on Landy right now and I will hook you up too.
*** you go so fast down there. It is a well known speed trap, like Plaquamines and LaFourche Parishes.

Ray 09-23-2009 10:41 AM

Landry, check your PM again.

longsidelandry 09-23-2009 10:44 AM

64 or less and you should be ok in the 55 zones. Anything in the 45 or lower zones you had better do the posted limit. Been driving there to go offshore for 15 yrs and got the scoop.

Ray 09-23-2009 10:48 AM

They usually let you go within 10mph over the limit, unless you are in town or in a school zone. They set their radar at 10 mph over the limit at 55 mph and below that they set it at 5 mph over the limit.
I have a call in to the D.A.'s office, waiting for her to call back.

Edit: She is not in the office today. I will have call back tomorrow.

I usually don't go over in the 45 and lower areas but I wasn't paying attention to where I was and of course as soon as I noticed I still had my cruise set on 55 and I was in a 45...here comes the cop around the curve.

entrapment?

they forced you to drive over the speed limit then pulled you over for it?

Dink 09-23-2009 12:16 PM

I've had a cop ride my butt real close on 2 lane near Breaux Bridge......I sped up to get some room between us and he pulled me over, gave me a ticket.....I was 17 at the time, wonder if he did that on purpose???

I had the same thing happen to me in Delcambre, he told me that there's never any reason to speed.:pissed:
