Diesel truck problems

Any one have this problem?
I have a 08 Chevy diesel that just died while ideling and won't re start. It turns over fine but it seems like its not getting fuel. I checked all fluids and they all fine. Over a 1/4 tank of fuel.

Lift pump maybe... and check fuel filter

I just changed fuel filter 3000 miles ago but I know that dont mean anything.

Did you try and prime it with the primer pump on the passenger side of engine ? There is a brass vent plug on the primer housing , unscrew it about 2 round, press down on the shiny lookin cap (primer button) till air is gone and clear fuel comes out . Tighten brass plug then try and start

Nightmare at my house at this time.
Camper fridge out
Bay boat axel just rusted out
Alum boat cracked at seam
Truck layed down
mower acting up
Son had card pulled at school

O well I just ordered a pizza n poped a cool one

My '07 did the same thing, had it towed to the shop and found it had a broken fuel line somewhere between the frame and the fuel filter.

Had same problem this week. 08, Chevy. Common problem, $300 to replace the whole top of my fuel filter, primer went out. Mechanic in carlyss Eddie Sonnier fixed it quick. I was able to prime it and get it started to get to the shop.

Get your buddy to push and pop the clutch....

I went to get my truck this morning and did just what y'all suggested first. The only thing I did different is loosen cap too much and it fell in engine compartment never to b seen again. Loaded truck on trailer with tractor and trailered it home.
When i got home It was killin me so I took the part off my buddy's truck, primed it and she fired rite fired rite up. Drove it off trailer but now I dont know what caused it.
