Looking for Shiners

I am relocating to Holmwood, live in Sulphur all my life. Where can I find shiners in this part of south lake charles area. Lookin for new fishing holes also, love canals ,flooded ditches, ponds for white perch. Can anyone enlighten me wher to find shiners?:help:

I've had trouble finding them this summer in my neck of the woods in Indiana. It seems most of the bait shops that hold minnows only hold crappie minnows in the summer, because it is too hard to keep bass minnows and shiners alive when it is hot and humid outside.

Gaspards on Gulf Highway used to sell them, not sure if they still do.

I wondered about them. It's been a very long time since I went in that store.
