Grand Isle
Residents and camp owners are now allowed into Grand Isle. Be aware that there is a convoy stop between Fourchon and Grand Isle. Currently, there is no electricity on the island and no anticipated date for electricity to come back on. Also, water is on and off periodically. If you return, there is a mandatory curfew between 6pm and 6am. Here are a couple of phone numbers to call for more info: (they are working sporadically) 985-787-3859 and 985-787-3196. Hope this helps!!

Hate to hear that. Saw that La. 1 got taken out by the surge. They'll bounce back, I'm sure.

Brudinlaws camp was in great shape. Just some mud on the cement slab.
Finger piers and electricity were messed up on the docks. Fish cleaning sheds were in good shape. Mostly a bunch of nasty mud everywhere. The water came thru but everyone had picked up everything before leaving. We had a cheap chest freezer outside on the porch for bait and ice. He took everything out the inside freezer and put out there. Everything was still frozen when he got there Saturday around noon. They just loaded it up and took the freezer home. |
So glad to hear that news!
