took the wife for a morning trip down ship channel..lotta mo boats..almost got killed going thru birds..a pelican in the face would prolly do some damage. slowedd down and tried to go around em on way back..wife scared
.found my spot and tide started ripping around 10:30...

2 trout..many flounder..finished by noon
used live shrimp..sorry to purest who frown on using live shrimp..but wife likes to catch..me too..actually...and a few boats around us were not catching..enough apologies..go ahead a rip me for slinging em

Nice catch. Don't be ashamed ... True purests catch on a bare hook or better yet with their hands. LOL. Just funnin

drunken clam 09-05-2012 01:38 PM

wow...thanks guys..thought I would get hammered.'''really '''almost didnt post....there are lots of guys posting who really put down the use of live bait...hey..if they like plastics etc and can catch..moe power to em. I aint puttin em down..

.i used enough plastic and have been the guy in the next boat watchin someone slinging live and killin em whilst i got sqwatt

.if live is available ..i ll get it...if I seee mullets..i ll throw my net and use em...u still gotta hook the fish..

btw..was using carolina rig in very shallow water..as tide went out..flounder moved out till they were under the boat and past..wife was fishing without casting for a while..couda used a cane pole for a while

.the bite was real soft with the flounder..u had to wait and let em take it....wife only caught 3 or 4..i was throwin em back so she could catch em..she was busy usually hooking anchor rope or unhooking an undesirables and tryin not to hurt em.

anyway it was a grt day and I appreciate the kind posts

YellowMouth7 09-05-2012 01:40 PM

Plastics don't taste too good! LOL Nice haul!

shaggy 09-05-2012 03:48 PM

dont like live shrimp but i like flounders nice catch

nimbus73 09-05-2012 05:49 PM

I have no problem with plastics or live. Since I don't live on the water like some on here do, I have to make the most of my time while I'm out here. It does hurt the pocket book for them live skrimps some but that's just the price to play the game.

gilbeaex 09-05-2012 06:44 PM

Don't matter how you catch them as long as you and your wife had a good time!

SpeckWrangler 09-05-2012 07:22 PM

Inch you need to pm me where your at so I can keep them boats off of ya
