cmc breakwaway plate
Right now my motor does not have ppwer t/t but all the newer ones im looking at have them. Yesterday when running i hit something underwater and it kicked the motor and sent the boat to the left towards the bank but no damage was done.if i wouldve had t/t something probably wouldve broke. The breakway plate allows you to use power t/t but still have the motor kick up just slower because there is a spring that slows the kick up motion. Does anybody run one? Seems it would be popular with the duck guys

I used to run a cmc pt 35 on my mega that didn't have factory trim. This allowed me to have power trim and still kick my motor up in the marsh to clear it. I'm not exactly sure what the breakaway plate is, but the power trim jackplate I had didn't affect how my motor was kicked up at all.

Are you changing motors or adding trim to current motor?

Cody the pt 130 or pt 35 are for motors without trim. The breakaway is for a motor with factory trim. It's just a jack plate that will swivel up. They do work great for the application you are referring to.
