Beach fishing. Best place?

Hey guys I'm new here! I'm trying to get into beach fishing. I was going to go make a scouting trip this Thursday to Elmer's island but just found out they were closed. I live in baton rouge. Can anyone suggest another good beach to go spec and flounder fishing? Thanks guys.

The Grand Isle beach can be just as good as Elmers Island. You just can't drive on the beach there

There are several public parking lots, mostly sand and grass, on the South side of the road in Grand Isle to park.
Just park and walk over the dune.

A lot of surf fisherman work around the rocks and in the 2nd drop-off at the GI beach.

Across from the sureway can be a good spot too

Is grand isle beach still open? Or is it closed also?

Yes and the Post Office!! I think they have a map showing all of the walk-overs and parking areas at the Port Commision / Tourism Office (by the butterfly dome).

You can contact the tourism office @ (985) 787-2997 for info on beach closures.
